Brian's guitar playing encompasses mostly Delta and Piedmont-style blues. His repertoire includes works by Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Charley Patton, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Tampa Red, Tommy Johnson and also original compositions. Brian has been playing guitar for more than 20 years. He studied music at the University of Maryland and with recording artists Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard, Paul Rishell, Little Annie Raines and Dave Hamburger. Brian is available for club engagements, private parties and festivals.
Brian maintains a busy teaching schedule of private guitar students through his Midnight Blue Guitar Studio, and teaches Blues, Rock and Folk guitar classes through Glen Echo Park's Creative Education Program (in cooperation with the National Park Service) and the Montgomery County Recreation Department, both in Bethesda, MD.
Brian is also the bandleader and founder of blues/jump/swing band BG & The Mojo Hands, a group composed of some of Washington DC's finest musicians. They regularly perform for enthusiastic audiences throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. The band is available for club engagements, swing dances, corporate functions, fund-raisers, private parties, festivals, concerts and weddings.
